CCB s In-Business Risk & Controls (IBRC) organization drives global consistency across CCB for addressing risk and control issues. CCB IBRC fosters a culture of control and customer centricity and accountability by leading efforts to identify, anticipate and mitigate regulatory, reputational, and operational risks.

Roles in the risk and controls space are critical to managing a safe and sound global business. The primary function of IBRC is to anticipate, identify and mitigate non-credit risks, including operational, reputational and performance risks, that could impact business objectives, and to minimize control breaks, poor audit/exam results and operational risk events and losses. IBRC staff work with the business to determine appropriate mitigants to key risks, including advising them on how to design appropriate controls through a globally consistent MCA, and in overseeing the implementation of various elements of the business s overarching Risk Appetite Framework. The IBRC team also helps to instill a robust risk and controls culture throughout the business through a strong issues and audit/exam management discipline.

Description

CCB is seeking to hire a Business Risk & Control Officer to focus on reporting of key risk and controls metrics for the global CCB business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Compliance, ORM, and other SMEs to ensure consistency in reporting, as appropriate, and help find solutions to address control gaps
  • Assist CCB Operational Risk and Controls Head in driving accountability for key control metrics throughout the organization through reporting and analysis of country/regional level reporting
  • Work with regional CCB IBRC teams to ensure that operational losses are timely and accurately input into LCS (system of record)
  • Prepare materials for senior control forums
  • Assist in key attestation processes on topics such as Model Risk, KORs/KIs, Sanctions/TRA and Volcker
  • Assist in developing opportunities to automate/digitize key controls and monitoring tools, as appropriate, and leveraging analytics to provide insights arising from key risk and controls metrics
  • Analyze operational risk data (typically losses, key risk indicator metrics or assessment results) to identify areas of potential risk, drive reporting/backup materials for presentation to senior CCB management and analyze whether past mitigation efforts are having the desired effect
  • Identify risk and control trends and common themes within CCB across all geographies, product types and functions
  • Identify changes in business strategy, market conditions, industry trends, regulatory environment, regional or country macro-economic factors, etc. which may lead to increased risk, and recommend enhancements to process controls to address them
  • Assist in the development of CCB s communications on key risk topics and initiatives
  • Lead or actively contribute to initiatives to identify, assess and reduce key risk areas within and across products and geographies
  • Participate in Citi/ICG-wide regulatory and risk-related initiatives covering topics such as FATCA/CRS, Data Governance and Privacy, as needed
  • Assist with periodic ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

  • 6 or more years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with key Citi risk and controls reporting tools (CORE, iCAPs, Citi Risk & Controls, etc.) a plus
  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to question the status quo and apply effective challenge, as appropriate
  • Superior organizational skills, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a group of diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex analytical ideas in a way that is understandable to a layperson
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Forward-compatible mindset, with the desire to leverage technology to improve analytics
  • Self-motivated with a passion for establishing and maintaining a culture of control within the business.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Background in Operational Risk, Compliance Risk or Credit Risk preferred
  • Understanding of the CCB business and operating model a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor s/University degree, Master s degree preferred
