The Art Director's purpose to conceptualize, design and execute high-quality, on-brand creative for all promotional platforms while collaborating with the Creative and Marketing teams. This requires an understanding of different art mediums (Photography, design, video editing and motion-graphics skills) and the ability to produce forward thinking content. the Directors work will support the overall regional brand strategy, including point-of-sale collateral, advertising, special events, education materials, social and launches. Candidate must be passionate about the beauty industry, and have the highest level of aesthetic and execution, ensuring that all designs adhere to brand guidelines. Must demonstrate experience conceptualizing and executing impactful, engaging creative across platforms including digital/social/traditional/instore and point of sale platforms.Creative and content* Direct full scope of North America led asset creation by channel, platform and retailer across categories. This includes Free-Standing Stores, Retail Partner locations, Brand.com and Retailer.com.* Collaborate with cross-functional North America teams, Global teams and outside agencies (as applicable).* Acts as the local guardian of the Brand creative guidelines and drive local relevancy across platforms* Works closely with marketing to maximize advertising, social media, and instore visualization* Oversees all content creation, photography, videography, agency relationshipsPlanning and project management* Problem-solves and thinks fast on your feet to deliver quick turnaround when required (often in 24 hours or less); ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment* Participates in weekly status meetings and coordinates on a daily basis with cross-functional teams* Spearhead programs in development with outside agencies inclusive of developing briefs based on input from relevant teams, meeting timelines, managing approval process and adhering to budget.Research, innovation and trend-spotting* Reports regularly on competitive brand activity, as well as leading non-beauty brands* Researches niche brands and creative/editorial outlets for the latest trends and inspiration* Maintain awareness of current trends in visual arts and complete in-store site visits to observe counters in action and/or approve production, research trends and materials. Elevate execution and maintain brand expectations.Qualifications* Excellent creative and conceptualization skills with an ability to adapt to established styles as well as create new and diverse ones.* Experience in the beauty category either from the agency, brand or retail.* Expert knowledge and experience in graphic design, art direction, photography, video conception, ,UX/UI digital technology and print design standards* Must have excellent skills in creative ideation and implementation of seasonal campaigns as well as daily content delivery* Must have experience managing agency relationships, talent, casting and production teams.* Experience managing on-set creative direction* Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.* Excellence and proven ability working in a fast paced and complex environment* Fluency in Adobe Creative Design Suites inclusive of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop etc. (Stellar typography design skills needed); Drawing/Illustration skills is a plus* Ability to build strong relationships both internally and with outside vendors.* Knowledge of retail environments (Department and Specialty Stores), Free Standing Stores, Online and Travel Retail a plus.Job: Creative / DesignPrimary Location: US-NY-New YorkJob Type: StandardSchedule: Full-timeShift: 1st (Day) ShiftJob Number: 205797We are an equal opportunity employer.
